Southeastern governors meet with US ambassador to Mexico

Cancun, QRoo.- Governor Carlos Joaquín participated in the second bilateral meeting of governors of the Mexican southeast with the United States ambassador to Mexico, Kenneth Lee Salazar, which was held in Mérida, Yucatán.

During this meeting, topics were addressed in order to identify the best economic development practices in this region of Mexico from a sustainable point of view.

The topics on the work agenda were Environment and Sustainable Development, Digital Economy and Trans-isthmic Corridor, and Fiscal Incentives.

A delegation of 19 representatives of international and national companies from American Chamber participated in the working meeting, which promotes trade between Mexico and the United States in a better environment for business.

The first meeting was held on October 20, in Villahermosa, Tabasco. Government Secretary Arturo Contreras Castillo attended on behalf of Governor Carlos Joaquín.

In that first meeting, Quintana Roo endorsed the importance of joining regional efforts to develop and implement a strategy that allows facing and solving common economic and environmental problems.
