Melville Delivery Thief Charged – Regina | The Canadian News

Ordering packages online can be stressful, especially when the said package does not arrive on time, or does not arrive at all. That was the case in Yorkton last week.

On January 26, Yorkton RCMP received a report of a theft. An investigation found that an employee of a delivery company stole packages intended for customers.

On the 27th, Melville RCMP officers, along with Yorkton’s provincial and municipal general investigation department, conducted a search warrant in a Melville residence.

Officers located and seized 40 items, including electronics and household appliances.

Accordingly, Ricky Novak was charged with the following:

  • 1 counts theft from mail of more than $ 5,000
  • 1 counts theft over $ 5,000
  • 1 counts theft under $ 5,000
  • 1 charge of possession of property obtained through crime exceeds $ 5,000
  • 1 charge of possession of property obtained through crime under $ 5,000

Novak will next appear in Yorkton Provincial Court on 28 February 2022.
