Drive Next – Mathieu’s Mitsubishi Lancer (S1 – Episode 02)

By his vocation, Roll to the next makes us discover different worlds which often give rise to stories that are not alike in any way.

In this episode, we discover that of four friends who have known each other from a very young age and who made the four hundred strokes together. A small, tight-knit group of three young men who own their first car versus one who doesn’t. Ironically, this young man named Mathieu has to stuff himself with three hours of public transport every day to get to Cégep, which takes a heavy toll on his daily time.

Because his friends too often spend their time carrying him left to right, but also because they would like to see him behind the wheel of his own car, they chose to participate in the competition by creating a funny and dynamic video that has quickly seduced the team of Roll to the next.

For Mathieu, we therefore got our hands on a car that is often appreciated by young drivers. A Mitsubishi Lancer, in its Sportback version and with manual gearbox. A car seriously neglected by its previous owner, probably working in the construction, in light of what we could find on board.

Although the mechanics were ripe for serious maintenance, it was especially the bodywork and the level of dirt in the cabin that gave us a hard time. A car so dirty that our detailing technician had a rather bizarre idea to remedy the situation, to say the least critical.

This episode therefore illustrates the consequences of shortcomings in terms of mechanical maintenance, but also introduces us to the world of automotive painting, where the arrangement of colors is often a challenge. It explains the repairs that must be carried out there, the consequence of a lack of attention and maintenance which would have cost a part of the money invested in this reconditioning.

Taken by surprise, Mathieu therefore discovers in this episode that he suddenly becomes the owner of a new car, certainly more attractive than that of his friends who had however initially told us that they were not jealous of this Lancer, of course before seeing the final result.

The whole team of Roll to the next therefore wish Mathieu many years of pleasure at the wheel of his new Mitsubishi. A solid car that truly deserves a second life.
