The RCMP says two people died after an accident about two miles south of Lake Lenore, Sask., On Boxing Day.

The two-vehicle collision on Highway 368 was reported around 4:15 p.m. on December 26, according to a press release.

RCMP said both the woman driving the car and the male driver of the van were pronounced dead at the scene. Police did not release their names and ages.

Three passengers in the van were taken to hospital with injuries, the statement said Monday.

RCMP said the people involved in the accident are from the Humboldt area.

A collision reconstructionist is helping with the investigation.

The town of Lake Lenore is located approximately 130 km northeast of Saskatoon.
