A man was charged after an 84-year-old woman was sexually assaulted in her home, Toronto police say.
Police said in a news release that officers were called at 12:53 a.m. Sunday for a sexual assault in the Greenholm and Lawrence Avenue East circuit area, near Markham Road, in Scarborough.
The statement said the victim was sleeping at home when a man knocked on the door.
He befriended her and entered the home, police said.

He then allegedly sexually assaulted her before fleeing in a vehicle.
Police said Praveen ‘Bobby’ Balhumar, a 29-year-old Toronto resident, has been charged with three counts of sexual assault, forced confinement, battery and illegally staying in a home.
Police said they are concerned there may be other victims, noting that Balhumar is a package delivery driver.
