Lebrija cyclist Juanpe López, 24, a member of the Trek team, dressed this Tuesday in the ‘pink jersey’ after reaching the top of the Etna volcano in second position behind the German Lennand Kamma. Both were members of the escape of the day where the victory of the fourth stage of the Giro d’Italia, disputed in Sicily, was played.
The last Spanish rider to wear pink in the Italian round was Alberto Contador, who also, in 2015, achieved absolute victory in the race with Mikel Landa in third position. Since then, no one else had dressed as a leader in Italy.
