Re: emissions the United Nations can stop; Climate Conference Approaching With Goals Far Out of Reach, Column, Oct. 3

The upcoming climate conference is nothing more than a Glasgow talk to all politicians, NGOs, experts and the very wealthy. What exactly is this fake forum going to accomplish? Another lesson for the dirty big ones that we are not doing enough to clean up Mother Earth and we have to severely sacrifice our lifestyle?

Meanwhile, these privileged few drink the best Chardonnay and dine in luxury. No doubt this country will send a large entourage of tax-sucking bureaucrats to the old Scottish town. Wow, I wonder how many of them traveled using solar or electric powered aircraft.

It’s no wonder that the masses are finally starting to pick up on this disgusting charade.

Chasing her seat

With the upcoming UN climate change meetings in Glasgow, there is no question that Justin Trudeau will be there, “big as life” and “front and center”. He will be there as he is now a “big shot” and has just been re-elected. His head, so swollen, will need special seating arrangements.

I shudder and am very scared and worried about what Trudeau will undertake on a world stage on behalf of Canada. This meeting will undoubtedly cost Canada billions, it will create more hardship for Canadians, it will increase Canada’s debt, it will see a tax increase, it will see the creation of new taxes. Also, expect Trudeau to somehow embarrass himself and Canada even more. Like wearing a kilt or some other mischief.

Get ready, Canada, because all this and much more will happen. Trudeau will use whatever he needs or wants to start another search for that position on the UN Security Council. Now there will be no limits. And, since he lost the last seat, his personal eagerness and desire have increased tremendously.

If you previously thought Trudeau could spend “like a fool,” wait and see how he completely surpasses himself this time.

WE HAVE A DESPERDICIAL ANSWER

Re: a lot of bad news; Ottawa landfill could fill in 15 years if no more trash is diverted, Oct. 17

Does the City Really Need a 2023 Staff Report on Testing New Waste Disposal Technologies? The world has a proven technology: energy from waste. Although the process has the support of the majority of citizens in developed economies, including Canada, a small group of opponents of the concept are outspoken and relentless in their opposition. Unfortunately, our Ottawa council will not challenge this minority.

There are a number of energy coming from waste facilities in Canada. Several OECD countries with waste energy facilities burn plastic and other garbage to very strict environmental standards. Japan reportedly sends 71 percent of its waste to incinerators. Canada sends 72 percent of waste to landfills. Canada’s recycling record clearly suggests that increased recycling efforts are problematic.

We have the answer and it is energy from waste. Council, go ahead.
