Woman Charged with Criminal Negligence for Death of Six-Year-Old Girl in ATV in NB – New Brunswick | The Canadian News

A 25-year-old woman from Esgenoôpetitj First Nation, NB, has been charged with criminal negligence resulting in death in connection with a community ATV accident last year.

Neguac’s RCMP responded on November 30, 2020 to a single-vehicle accident outside a home on Grattan Road, they said in a statement.

“The accident is believed to have occurred when an off-road vehicle collided with a tree and rolled over,” the RCMP said.

A six-year-old girl traveling in an SUV was taken to hospital with serious injuries. She was later airlifted to the IWK Health Center in Halifax, where she later died.

A 24-year-old woman and a nine-year-old girl, also in the ATV at the time of the accident, suffered minor injuries, police said.

On November 1, 2021, Keisha Renee Herrell was charged with criminal negligence resulting in death. He was issued a summons to appear in Miramichi Provincial Court on December 13 at 1 pm.
