Weather in Quebec: sunny and colder on Monday

The week begins with a generous sun on Monday for most of Quebec, even if it will be colder, however, contrasting with the mild spell of the previous day.

An extreme cold warning issued by Environment Canada is in effect in the western and northern sectors of the province, such as Abitibi-Témiscamingue, La Tuque and Saguenay.

Sunny weather is therefore expected for the sectors of the St. Lawrence River valley, in particular Montreal, Montérégie, Lanaudière, Mauricie and Quebec, but the sun’s rays are not synonymous with warm weather.

The mercury should drop to -10 degrees for these areas where the federal agency forecasts a wind chill of -25 in the morning and -17 in the afternoon, generally accompanied by winds of 20 km / h.

In Estrie and Beauce as well as in certain sectors of the west of the province, the weather will be generally sunny with temperatures of -11 degrees, according to forecasts from the federal agency.

It is practically the same topo that will prevail in the eastern sectors of the province, such as Bas-Saint-Laurent, Gaspésie and Côte-Nord, but with much colder weather, especially in the morning.

The sun will give way to cloudiness and snowy episodes before it returns on Friday, but temperatures will be milder in the meantime, according to Environment Canada forecasts.
