Wall Street opens in green for Putin’s statements and purchases before the weekend

The NYSE opened higher this Friday, supported by statements considered encouraging by the Russian president Vladimir Putin and a movement of purchases before the weekend.

In the first exchanges, the dow jones rose 0.79%, the technology nasdaq 0.83% and the S&P 500 0.71 percent.

The Russian president said on Friday that he saw some “positive steps” in the negotiations with Ukraine, in a meeting with his Belarusian ally Alexander Lukashenko.

The New York stock market ended lower on Thursday, again overshadowed by the war in Ukraine and inflation in the United States, although the drop in the price of crude allowed it to limit losses.

The Dow Jones thus lost 0.34%, the Nasdaq technology index 0.95% and the S&P 500 0.43% at the closing bell.
