Violence in Montreal: a teenager stabbed in Pointe-Claire


A 16-year-old teenager was fighting for his life on Tuesday after being stabbed during an argument in Pointe-Claire, in the west island of Montreal.

According to the police, the event occurred in the middle of the afternoon, around 2:40 p.m., at the corner of John-Fisher and Broadview avenues, where the English-language secondary school St. Thomas is located.

“According to the first information obtained, an altercation took place between two groups of individuals. During the altercation, the victim was stabbed in the upper body with a sharp object,” said officer Véronique Comtois, spokesperson for the Montreal Police Service.

A passerby would then have embarked the victim in his car, before being joined by the emergency services called to 911.

The teenager was transported to a hospital and was in critical condition at the end of the afternoon.

A suspect has been arrested by the police.

An investigation has been opened by the SPCVM to try to find out more about this attempted murder.
