BBVA Mexico has a very good opinion of Victoria Rodríguez in light of the work she has done as Undersecretary of Expenditures in the Secretary of Finance and Public Credit (SHCP).
President Andrés Manuel López Obrador reported this Wednesday that it will propose to Victoria Rodriguez to be the next governor of the Bank of Mexico (Banxico).
In a videoconference in which the Banking Situation report was released, and a few hours after the announcement made by the Executive, Carlos Serrano, chief economist of BBVA Mexico, said that from the bank there is a good impression of the work that the undersecretary has done in terms of expenditure policy.
It has helped to conduct a disciplined and orderly fiscal policy. In the budget there have been disciplined spending exercises. We have a very good opinion about his management ”, he said.
The economist recalled that in these three years of government, each time the budget has been analyzed, the bank has pronounced itself favorably, as there has been a policy to contain spending and what has been proposed has been complied with.

Carlos Serrano He mentioned, however, that the type of tasks that Victoria Rodríguez will face at the head of Banxico -in case it is ratified by the Senate- are of a different nature, because in addition to those related to the monetary politicsThere are those that have to do with the stability of the financial system and the payment system.
