Vancouver Giants extend straight win streak to six with comeback over Everett Silvertips

The Kamloops Blazers and Everett Silvertips came into the weekend with three combined losses in regulation time and the Vancouver Giants quickly defeated them on consecutive nights.

The Giants defeated the Silvertips, who ranked third in the national standings last week, by a 6-5 count on Saturday at Everett. The victory came on the heels of a 3-1 win over the No. 2 Blazers at Langley Events Center on Friday.

Vancouver (13-7-1-0) has won six in a row.

Against the Silvertips (18-2-1-1), Vancouver rallied from deficits of 3-1 in the first period and 4-3 in the second period.

Striker Zack Ostapchuk’s second goal of the night and the sixth of the season at 11:12 in the third period emerged as the game winner. Ostapchuk, the 2021 Ottawa Senators second round, has five goals in his last three games.
