Tourism Tianguis starts with high IP expectations

Between the rebirth of tourism and the new beginning, this morning the 45th edition of the Tianguis Turístico will be inaugurated in the city of Mérida, to which the private sector arrives with “a lot of enthusiasm and very high expectations,” said the president of the National Business Council Tourist (CNET), Braulio Arsuaga.

“The numbers that the Ministry of Tourism has commented are important: 41 countries, 32 exhibiting entities and more than 1,400 buyers. These are interesting figures that will help in the future, because the contracts and businesses that are made there are for the future. The results of F1 must also be added to the recovery process after the severe blow of the pandemic ”, said the businessman.

Among the activities that the main leader of the tourism private sector will have is the panel: Tourism in Yucatán: an oasis for investments, together with the host governor, Mauricio Vila, the president of Grupo Xcaret, Miguel Quintana, and the director of the National Fund for Promotion of Tourism, Rogelio Jiménez Pons, among others. However, the satisfaction of the employer is not full because even with an estimate of 70% of the current recovery of the sector, Mexico is far from the desired volume and the issues of insecurity and lack of promotion, national and international, remain latent.

“We cannot speak of full recovery until certain segments that have to do with volume in cities are recovered. I mean business trips and groups and conventions. Yes, there is recovery on beaches, which may be affected by insecurity (as happened recently in the Mexican Caribbean). It is clear: it is not the same film that is watched in cities where the two segments have not recovered ”, he added.

What happens in Yucatan?

The first face-to-face edition of the Tourist Tianguis, after last year’s cancellation, has been promised as a watershed for the sector. The new moment and the new era with the participation of all those involved.

The Secretary of Tourism, Miguel Torruco, arrived at the headquarters of the business meeting three days before and since then he has carried out various activities in the company of Governor Mauricio Vila and the person in charge of local Tourism, Michelle Fridman, among them: inauguration of hotels, visit to the new Xcaret park and participate in the Forum Trends and opportunities for destination organizations in Mexico.

In line with his enthusiasm, Miguel Torruco published this Monday, on his Twitter account: Something is happening in Yucatán, the state is professionalizing tourism activity, it is something that is noticeable, positioning itself, at the end of October, as the third receiving entity investment.
