Tiger-Cats re-sign veteran defender behind Brooks on two-year deal – Hamilton | The Canadian News

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats re-signed US defender Cariel Brooks on Wednesday with a two-year contract.

Brooks, 30, played 12 regular-season games last season and recorded a league-top five interceptions along with 23 tackles, three passing knockouts and a knockout.

The five-foot 10 and 200-pound Brooks were also named CFL All-Star for the first time.

Brooks has appeared in 58 regular-season four-game games with Hamilton, recording 172 tackles, two sacks, 12 interceptions and four forced fumbles.

Before joining the Ticats, Brooks spent 2017 training camp with the Toronto Argonauts after two seasons at the NFL’s Arizona Cardinals (2015-16).
