I did a test with the web page that Pau Garcia-Milà mentioned in this newspaper a few days ago. This young entrepreneur said: “In a few years, teachers will not be able to know who has written a paper.” he was talking about a technology that allows to build a coherent and plausible discourse, based on four concepts noted on the screen. I wrote: “The relations between Catalonia and Spain are complex”, and the machine responded to the act: “Catalonia is an autonomous community of Spain with the status of a nation, which means that it has its own constitution, language and culture”. Okay, the machine perhaps exaggerates and perhaps has a somewhat ‘independent’ touch, but being magnanimous in certain details we can conclude that the program is capable of writing, that is, of thinking, that is, of substituting the approach that any of the us for an autonomous reflection, without human intervention. I did not delve deeper so as not to be scared, and I am left wondering if the monster supports ideological variables depending on the user. In the meantime, for whatever it may be, I’m starting to send resumes to boxing clubs, in case they need mature sparring partners in condition to last two or three rounds with athletic dignity.
