A weekend of attacks on commercial establishments was experienced in Acapulco, Guerrero, and again in Cancún, Quintana Roo.
According to the Ministry of Security and Citizen Protection, in the first six days of May, 493 intentional homicides were registered throughout the country, 42 more than in the same period in April, when 451 homicides were registered.
On Saturday night, in an establishment known as “Cervecería Martínez” in the Emiliano Zapata neighborhood in Acapulco, Guerrero, armed individuals went outside to open fire on people who were drinking on public roads there; two people died and two others were injured.
Elements of the Municipal Police came to the place to cordon off the perimeter, while Expert Services of the Guerrero Prosecutor’s Office located at least 15 casings from a 9-millimeter caliber weapon.
Those responsible escaped aboard a vehicle, but at the moment there have been no arrests for the events.
In Cancun, Quintana Roo, one person was killed and six more were injured, after at least two subjects entered the “Las Micheladas del Tío Toño” establishment and shot at the attendees.
Last Friday at 9:00 p.m., two commercial establishments located on Kobah Avenue were the target of simultaneous attacks.
A video from the security cameras of “Las Micheladas del Tío Toño” revealed the moment in which three subjects arrived at the scene and opened fire on an employee, who sought to protect himself behind a piece of furniture, although one of the subjects shoots him directly in the neck; later they fire their weapons into the place where more people were.
Previously, at 8:37 p.m., a person was injured by a projectile impact in the “La Palapita” bar located on the same Kabah avenue.
The Quintana Roo Attorney General’s Office (FGE) reported the arrest of a person probably related to these events.
They attack the mayor’s brother
Juan de Dios Ixtlahúac brother of the mayor of Zitácuaro, Michoacán, Juan Antonio Ixtlahúac, suffered an attack with firearm shots, without being injured.
Armed subjects entered the place where he was and after a struggle they shot at him, despite the fact that he was with a minor, who was also unharmed. The subjects fled in a vehicle.
