They demand justice for victims of murder

It took four years and six months for the family of Diana Velázquez Florencio, a victim of murder, to achieve “a small piece of justice” with the 93-year sentence against Jesús Alejandro Montes, who is guilty of taking of the life of the young man. woman from 24 years old during the early morning hours of July 2, 2017, in Chimalhuacán, State of Mexico.

“(The verdict) is not reassuring at all, even less is there joy in the house, perhaps it is thought that we are already at peace, that peace has come to our house, but unfortunately it did not happen,” emphasizes Lidia Florencio, mother of Dianita, as you say.

For Mrs. Florencio – who has gone out to protest in the streets since that tragic Sunday in which her daughter disappeared, stopped countless times at the offices of the Public Ministry and prosecutor, and who even camped outside the National Palace for days – the female murderer of her daughter does not have complete justice, as the person guilty of raping her is still free and, worse, has not been identified.

“We feel the same. We are sitting with that piece of justice that has taken us away from the Judiciary and all the authorities as we know that that subject may never come out again and that a woman will never be killed by his hands again.

“This is the most positive thing you can get out of this. “Because they say it’s justice, I do not think so, it’s fair that my Dianita was with us,” he emphasized.

In the case, the Mexican prosecutor’s office determined that the person responsible for Diana’s female murder was Jesús Alejandro, who was driving a motorcycle taxi in the Francisco I. Madero street area, near the Chimalhuacán Justice Center, where early that Sunday morning his body was abandoned and mutilated, despite pregnancy.

After the sentence, Diana’s mother upheld her claim against the authorities who conducted the investigations, as she recalled that three years had to elapse for the case to proceed, as it was until it was planted outside the National Palace when they “surprisingly” arrested. one of those responsible.

We just made a march to commemorate his death, and it was the following Monday, July 6, 2020, when we decided to hold a sit-in at the National Palace, and on Wednesday of that week, the State Deputy Attorney for Gender spoke to me and he told me that he had good news (…) a detainee for the female murder of Diana “, says Mrs. Florencio.

“We have realized that unfortunately there is no progress in this country if we do not raise our voice,” he added.

She emphasizes that the person responsible for raping her daughter is still at large, a situation that drives her to continue to seek justice, in addition to strengthening her activism to help other families experiencing the same experience. , as she regrets, far from reducing violence against women, It gets worse.

“There is too much pain, knowing that my daughter was killed. These are the most difficult words to understand, hear and carry. The search for justice was too stressful, tiring, and expensive. For all the families who lived the same, the road is too long, there is no day when we can be calm, ”he cries.
