Catalonia has already entered a phase of influenza epidemic. The ‘conseller’ of Health, Joseph Maria Argimon, has said this Thursday in a media attention that flu cases are going up “vertical” in Catalonia, Spain and other surrounding countries. “We are concerned about the havoc that this disease can wreak on the old people”, explained the ‘minister’, who recalled that the best way to prevent it is through mask, good hand hygiene and social distance.

Regarding the withdrawal of the masks in the classrooms and, later, in the rest of the interiors, Argimon has argued that “there is no consensus” between the different autonomies. This measure is of state competence, not regional. Catalonia defends beginning to progressively remove the masks in the courses of the youngest students and continue with the older ones. “We will debate it again in the interterritorial council next week”, the ‘minister’ insisted.
Argimon did not want to say when the flight with Ukrainian children in oncological processes will arrive in Catalonia. Sources consulted by EL PERIÓDICO indicate that it is scheduled to land this Friday.
