2. French toast with custard

Ingredients for 4 people

  • 1 loaf of bread

  • 2 tablespoons of milk

  • 50g sugar

  • 2 eggs

  • 1 tablespoon of soluble coffee

  • Vanilla essence

  • Oil.

For the custard

  • 500 ml of milk

  • 1 lemon peel

  • 80g sugar

  • 2 egg yolks

  • 15 g cornstarch

  • 1 teaspoon of butter

  1. Cut the bread into slices.

  2. Meanwhile, in a saucepan, heat the milk with the sugar and vanilla; When it starts to boil, remove from the heat and let it warm.

  3. Bread the bread slices in the vanilla milk. If the bread is hard, it is convenient to leave them to soak for 10 minutes; then, they are passed through beaten egg and fried in a pan with plenty of hot oil; afterwards, they are removed, left to drain on absorbent paper and set aside in the heat.

  4. The half liter of milk is boiled with the lemon peel, sugar and butter.

  5. The anise is mixed with the egg yolks and cornstarch, beating until completely dissolved; Then, the milk is removed from the heat, the lemon peel is removed and it is poured over the mixture of the yolks.

  6. Mix everything together and cook, stirring without stopping, until it thickens; at that point, remove from the heat and let it warm.

Presentation

3. Chocolate log

Ingredients for 4 people

  • 250 g of chopped walnuts

  • 2 eggs

  • 200 g of soft chocolate

  • 1 lemon

  • 1.5 cups of sugar

  • 1 glass of liquid cream

  • Powdered sugar

Elaboration

  1. Butter a long mold.

  2. In a large bowl, beat 250 grams of butter and sugar.

  3. Add the yolks, lemon juice and walnuts.

  4. Mix everything well and add the beaten egg whites until stiff, stirring carefully so that they do not fall.

  5. The cream obtained is poured over the reserved mold and put in the freezer to harden.

  6. Meanwhile, put the chopped chocolate in a bowl and cook in the microwave at 100% power for six minutes. When it has melted, add the cream and mix both ingredients well.

  4. In a large bowl, beat four eggs and two yolks with sugar. Add the milk and yeast mixture and stir until integrated.

  5. Cut 150 grams of butter into small cubes, put them in a large bowl with flour and a teaspoon of salt and knead. Add the egg mixture and continue kneading until the mixture is homogeneous.

  6. Add the first yeast mixture and knead until you get an elastic dough.

  11. Lower the oven to 170 degrees and cook for another 45 minutes.

Ingredients for 4 people

  • 4 bananas
