Suspected arson in the Ahuntsic-Cartierville restaurant fire

Firefighters identified a possible incendiary object.

The Montreal police arson squad is investigating a fire Sunday morning at a restaurant in the Ahuntsic-Cartierville district.

Police spokeswoman Véronique Comtois said a 911 call was made around 6:30 a.m. regarding a fire on Henri-Bourassa Blvd.

Firefighters put out the blaze, which severely damaged the building but caused no injuries.

A possible incendiary object was seen at the scene, Comtois said, and the file was transferred to the arson squad.
