Suspect allegedly assaulted a 3-year-old girl, her father, at the Mississauga – Toronto Community Center | The Canadian News

Peel Regional Police say they are seeking to identify a suspect who allegedly assaulted a three-year-old girl and her father in the parking lot of a Mississauga community center.

Police said in a news release Thursday that the incident occurred on Aug. 30 at around 9:25 p.m. at the Meadowvale Community Center.

Police said the girl and her 34-year-old father were attending their vehicle in the parking lot when a “strong verbal argument” between the suspect and a woman caught the attention of the victims.

The statement said the suspect saw the victims watching and began arguing with the 34-year-old.

The suspect then approached the victims and sprayed an “unknown substance” on them, possibly bear spray or pepper spray, before fleeing, police said.

The victims were evaluated by paramedics and reportedly suffered minor injuries.

Investigators described the suspect as between the ages of 18 and 25, standing at 5’5 ” with shoulder-length black hair, and was reportedly wearing a white T-shirt and black shorts when the incident occurred.
