This Thursday has started in Ifema the 75th edition of the Madrid catwalk -Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid- in which one of the models, Samy debut. The nerves were evident, but not only for parading for large firms, the model was the only ukrainian of the event and, despite the glitter and grand designs, his mind is with his “family and with his country”.
“We are a big family and they have managed to flee to neighboring countries, but my grandparents, due to their age, have preferred to stay in Ukraine,” he said this Thursday moments before parading to Iron Peter.
The 17-year-old model wears just a month and a half residing in Barcelonawhere he decided to try his luck in fashion with the agency Francino Models.
“My family does not plan to move to Spain. They are receiving help and prefer to stay in Romania or Poland,” he says, rubbing his hands together as he remembers the situation, despite the fact that he has not lost contact with them during all these days.
“I know they’re okay,” Samy says, and that comforts her.
Stockings tribute to Ukraine
Slender, blonde with blue eyes, with still adolescent features, Samy has also paraded for Agatha Ruiz de la Pradafor which he has opened the parade wearing some socks with the colors of the Ukrainian flag.

“I am very surprised and grateful for the support I am receiving. Everyone has turned to me,” says the model, who has also walked for Pertegaz and Ynés Suelves.
Samy appreciates the work of all the countries and institutions that are providing help to Ukraine at the moment. And he asks and trusts that “the war ends now” and stops causing pain and death to his compatriots.
