Sacmex presents their annual infrastructure plan

By 2022, the Mexico City Water System (Sacmex) plans to invest a total of 1,400 million pesos in drinking water infrastructure alone.

In front of members of the Mexican Chamber of Construction (CMIC) in the capital, the head of Sacmex, Rafael Carmona Paredes, announced the project of the work plan in terms of drinking water infrastructure expected for this year, where the sectorisation works and the rehabilitation of wells in the capital stands out. .

“The budget ceiling for 2022 is about 1 400 million pesos for actions with drinking water,” he said.

The capital official explained that this work plan must be approved by the head of government of the Mexico City, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo.

Meanwhile, it has revealed that for actions related to drainage infrastructure, a budget ceiling of 1,479.5 million pesos is provided.

The actions include the sanitation of water bodies, desalination of dams, lagoons and rivers, as well as the third phase of rehabilitation of national channel.

The president of the CMIC Mexico City, José Sabino Varela, explained that as a private sector and to increase its participation in public works projects, they will work on a series of actions.

He explained, for example, that they would be looking for MSMEs to function as more efficient providers for Sacmex.
