Rider Suffers Serious Injury In Collision On Hwy. 7 East Of Peterborough: OPP – Peterborough | The Canadian News

A motorcyclist was seriously injured after a weekend collision on Hwy. 7 east of Peterborough.

According to the Peterborough County OPP, at around 7 a.m. Saturday, officers responded to a collision involving a vehicle and a motorcycle on the road between Asphodel Lines 5 and 6 in Asphodel-Norwood Township, about five miles west of the town of Norwood.

Police say their initial investigation shows the motorcycle rear-ended a vehicle. The motorcyclist was taken to a Toronto-area hospital with serious but non-fatal injuries.

The occupants of the vehicle were not injured, the OPP said Monday.

The highway was closed for several hours between County Road 38 and the Asphodel Eighth Line while police investigated.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
