Retain INM up to 16,000 migrants during January

The National Institute of Migration (INM) repatriated the first 30 days of January to 16,740 migrants who traveled to the United States through Mexico.

According to an INM report, 14.5% (2,421) treated children, adolescents and adolescents between 0 and 17 years; of those 780 were solo, while 987 were women and 1,434 were men.

Regarding adult persons, the organ dependent on the Secretariat of Government informs that 10,810 male persons of the sexual sex and 3,509 women.

“For nationality, 10,443 centers of Central and South America, mainly Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador; the rest, 6,297, are originating from Asia, Africa, Europe and Oceania ”, indicates the INM.

In fact, Migration Reflection, which during the 2021 phase, recorded the retention of 9,406 migrants, means that, by 2022, there were 7,334 cases (78%).

Among the migrant detention cases, the INM has reached out to 966 people traveling in tractor-trailer or trailer cabins in Veracruz, Oaxaca and Coahuila.

The INM added that new modalities were being detected during the year when migrants were able to cross the border to cross the border with the United States in the presence of motorcycles, cabins or dormitories of clones and ambulances.
