Reader’s Letter: Government Must Address High Cost of COVID-19 Testing to Cross Border

Regarding the COVID-19 testing required when crossing the Windsor-Detroit border, I would like to say that I understand why testing is in place. We do not want asymptomatic carriers to cross the border and cause another outbreak.

But I think the $ 200 testing cost is pretty unnecessary.

There are many workable solutions to this problem. For starters, I think a different test system should be implemented with various time constraints to reduce this cost.

Another solution would be for the federal government to collaborate to cover part of the cost or the full cost.
