Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says he has tested positive for COVID-19

OTTAWA – Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says he tested positive for COVID-19.

Trudeau posted on Twitter that he received the positive test result on Monday morning. He has been in isolation since last Wednesday when he said he had a positive contact.

CP reported that the contact was one of his children, but the PMO did not identify which of his children contracted the virus.

“I feel good – and I will continue to work remotely this week while following public health guidelines. Everyone, please get vaccinated and get a boost,” Trudeau tweeted.

When a massive truck convoy protesting vaccine mandates arrived in Ottawa from Friday, Trudeau and his family moved away from Rideau Cottage to another location in the national metropolitan area. He had not yet spoken to protesters but was scheduled to hold a news conference on Monday.

More to come.
