Police investigate shots fired in downtown Hamilton – Hamilton | The Canadian News

Police are investigating a shooting incident early Monday in downtown Hamilton.

The shooting is believed to have occurred shortly after 6 a.m. on Queen Street North and York Boulevard.

“Upon arrival, officers immediately secured the area and searched for anyone involved; however, they had fled the scene, ”Hamilton police said in a statement.

“No injuries have been reported to the police at this time and checks at local hospitals were negative.”

Investigators have not released any further information about the suspect.

Police are expected to be in the Queen Street area between York Boulevard and Napier Street for most of Monday morning.
