Toronto police say a man died after being struck by a vehicle on Toronto’s eastern edge.

According to a tweet issued by the service, police received a call shortly after 11:30 a.m. for reports of a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle in the area of ​​Midland and Broadbent avenues, just north of Eglinton Avenue East in Scarborough, Ontario.

A police spokesman told Global News that the driver left the vehicle at the scene and left on foot, but investigators located him shortly thereafter.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene, police added.
