A question that has been asked of experts a thousand times over the past two years is when will the pandemic end. None have got the answer right: the pandemic has come to an end when we have stuffed ourselves. It does not matter that the number of infections and the death figures remain high: there are countries that have decided to collectively turn the page and proclaim that the covid has ‘flu’. It reminds me of the photo of George W. Bush, smiling under a giant banner that read ‘mission accomplished’, after proclaim victory in the Iraq war in 2003 (we all know what happened next). Don’t let reality spoil a good slogan.
