Only 4% of medical professionals have a doctorate

Medicine is one of the professions with higher average salaries than the national average; additionally, it presents a gender gap that is significantly smaller than that of employment in general.

In Mexico, doctors earn an average of 122 pesos per hour, which varies depending on the level of instruction and the area of ​​specialization. Doctors who have a doctorate earn an average of 26,695 pesos per month.

According to figures from the National Survey of Occupation and Employment (ENOE), 76% of these professionals work in a subordinate and paid manner.

In terms of gender, 46% are women and 54% are men.
