I can’t defend prostitution, which perpetuates the objectification of women and their oppression. I will raise my voice emphatically against trafficking, but I will not silence the cry of a woman for whom our society and our laws do not offer other options for survival. I will listen to her words about the practice of prostitution and I will cry out against a system that throws so many to the margins.
