Plan against inflation will not have coercive measures or price controls: AMLO


President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador He said that a plan against inflation launched by the Government will not have coercive measures or price controls, but agreements to guarantee that the basic food basket has a fair price.

The president presented this Wednesday morning the plan against inflation called Package Against Inflation and Famine (PACIC).

“This is not about price control, it is an agreement to guarantee that the basic food basket has a fair price and I want to thank the collaboration of producers, businessmen and merchants because they have agreed to participate voluntarily,” he said from the National Palace.

For his part, the Secretary of Finance and Public Credit, Rogelio Ramirez de la Oreported that the package proposes a series of measures to increase grain production strategies in the country, which will focus on corn, beans and rice.
