Police said their drugs and guns unit (DIGS) has been conducting an investigation in recent days that identified a suspect, a residence, and a vehicle.

On Tuesday, officers located the suspect and the vehicle traveling in the 3200 block of Sandwich Street.

The officers waited until the vehicle stopped in a parking lot, then moved in to apprehend the female driver.

According to police, when the officers told the woman that she was under arrest, she immediately put her vehicle in reverse — colliding with a Windsor police vehicle in the process.

Both vehicles sustained minor damage but no one was hurt.

The suspect was taken into custody.

A search found various drugs in her possession, as well as a quantity of currency.
