More than 100,000 people participate in the Nit dels Museums


More of 100,000 people visited this Saturday some of the 75 museums Y equipments from Barcelona and his Metropolitan area who participated in the 16th edition of the Night of the Museumswhich offered the possibility of visiting more than 120 exhibitions free of charge and participating in some sixty activities.

The initiative is part of the activities of the International Museum Dayand included free visits to temporary exhibitions and permanent collections of the participating centres, as well as workshops, competitions, concerts and poetry, dance and theater performances.

10,000 visitors in the spaces of the metropolitan area

According to data from the Barcelona Institute of Culture, between 7:00 p.m. yesterday, Saturday, and 1:00 a.m. this morning, a total of 102,470 people took part in this event, which has recovered the face-to-face after two years of pandemic and in which 14 museums from Badalona, Cornella, Esplugues, L’Hospitalet, Sant Adria, Sant Joan Despi Y Santa Coloma de Gramenetwhich have received a total of 9,934 visitors.

Participation Ranking

The museums that have attracted the most public have been the Museum of Contemporary Art of Barcelona (MACBA), with 4,079 visitors, the Montjuïc Castle (3,533), the National Art Museum of Catalonia (MNAC) with 7,831, the Born Center of Culture (3,763), the Archeology Museum of Catalonia (3,004), the Sant Pau Modernista (3,990) and CosmoCaixa (2,793).
