Montreal: a body found in a car trunk damaged by flames

Officers from the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) began an investigation on the night of Saturday to Sunday after the discovery of a body in the suitcase of a car damaged by flames in the borough of Rivière-des- Prairies–Pointe-aux-Trembles.

The emergency services were alerted around 12:50 a.m. to a burning vehicle at the Parc-nature de la Pointe-aux-Prairies, located on Gouin Boulevard, not far from the Pointe-aux-Trembles station. The police discovered the body after the fire was completely brought under control.

A security perimeter was erected across Pointe-aux-Prairies Park to better understand the circumstances of the event. An autopsy will be done to determine the identity of the individual. An expertise will also be carried out on the vehicle.
