Mexico’s GDP in 2021 would not be enough to compensate for the drop in 2020

The mexican economy registered a contraction of 0.1% in real terms during the fourth quarter of 2021, which would imply two quarters with negative figures, according to the timely estimate of the Inegi (National Institute of Statistic and Geography).

If the institute confirms these figures, the Mexico GDP would have grown 5% in the year, an important rebound but insufficient to compensate for the 8.4% drop registered during 2020, the year of confinements due to Covid-19.
