Man wanted for aggravated assault known to frequent Edmonton area

Mounties are seeking the public’s help in finding a Fort Saskatchewan man wanted on charges of aggravated assault and forcible confinement.

Alberta RCMP from Fort Saskatchewan and Sherwood Park describes the suspect, Jason Trevor Hipson, as five-foot-three, 145 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes, and Caucasian.

The RCMP said the 45-year-old suspect is believed to be in the area of ​​Strathcona County, having taken a victim’s vehicle from Fort Saskatchewan and leaving it in Sherwood Park where the vehicle has been recovered.

Mounties continue to search for Hipson with help from the RCMP air service and police dog services. People are asked not to approach the suspect as he may be a harm to himself or others, RCMP said.

Hipson is known to frequent the city of Edmonton.

Anyone with information regarding the suspect’s whereabouts is asked to contact Fort Saskatchewan RCMP or submit an anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers.
