Dylan Weston delivered the game-winning goal in back-to-back games to put the Lakeshore Canadiens on the verge of sweeping the North Middlesex Stars.

Weston snapped a tie with the game-winning goal just over six minutes into the third period on Sunday to give the Canadiens a 3-2 win on the road over the Stars.
It followed Weston’s game-winning goal 54 seconds into the second overtime in Saturday’s game to lift Lakeshore to a 2-1win at home.
With the two wins, the Canadiens hold a commanding 3-0 lead in the best-of-seven Schmalz Cup semifinal series with the Stars in the Provincial Junior Hockey League. Game 4 is Friday in Lakeshore.
Sunday was perhaps the best performance of the series for the Stars, who held a commanding 47-26 edge in shots. Goalie Trevor Heslop made 45 saves for the Canadiens and Adam Pizzo and Eric LaRue also scored for Lakeshore, which never trailed in the game.

On Saturday, Josh Cyrenne pulled Lakeshore even in the second period before Weston notched the game winner in the second overtime for the Canadiens, who held a 49-24 edge in shots.
Grundner lifts Flyers
The top-seeded Leamington Flyers scored a vital 5-4 win over the fifth-seeded St. Marys Lincolns on Sunday before a crowd of 605 at the Nature Fresh Centre.
The Flyers still trail 2-1 in the best-of-seven semifinal series in the Western Conference of the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League. Game 4 is Tuesday in St. Marys.
Gavin Grundner scored three goals for the Flyers while Kale Couvillon fired the game-winning goal with just under four minutes left in regulation. Anthony Ciamitaro had the other Leamington goal with Connor MacPherson picking up three assists.

Express streak ends
A modest two-game winning streak for the Windsor Express came to an end on Sunday in a 125-100 road loss to the Sudbury Five in NBL of Canada action.
The Express fell behind by 13 points after the first quarter and could not catch up. Nick Garth paced the Windsor offense with 30 points off the bench and Elijah Ifejeh added another 17 points and Kobie Williams finished with 13 points off the bench for the Express (5-13). Quinnel Brown was the lone Windsor starter in double figures with 10 points against the Five (9-9).
robins earns spot
Windsor’s Amy Robins has earned a spot on Team Ontario’s women’s team for next month’s Canadian Artistic Gymnastics Championship in British Columbia
The 15-year-old Robins, who competes for the Rose City Gymnastics Club, placed second overall in Level 10 to earn her spot that included a first-place finish in beam. Teammate Sofia Spadafora, of LaSalle, placed seventh overall and was named an alternate for the provincial team while Rose City coaches Tom Deslippe and Diane Deslippe were named to the coaching staff.
OHL Development Combine
Two members of the Windsor Jr. Spitfires Zone AAA minor midget team were selected to compete at the OHL Development Combine, which was held Saturday and Sunday in Oshawa.
The showcase event is for players eligible for this year’s OHL Draft, which is set for Friday and Saturday.
A total of 76 players took part in the event. Tyler McGuire was among 24 defensemen at the camp while Joshua Lepain was among 36 forwards to participate.
