Legitimation of the contract at the Saint Gobain plant in Cuautla will be carried out between two unions


The legitimation of the collective bargaining agreement of the company Saint Gobainat its plant in Cuautla, Morelos, will be held on July 5 and 6, in the midst of the dispute between two union organizations that seek to represent the more than 1,000 workers.

The global company Saint Gobain has operations in Morelos, Tlaxcala, San Luis Potosí, Coahuila, Baja California and Tamaulipas; but it is in the Morelos plant where an independent union organization emerged, which started the campaign for the “No” to the legitimization of the contract.

Currently, the union that has ownership, and who is in charge of organizing the voting process of the workers for next July 5 and 6, is the Union of Glass Industry Workersaffiliated with the Confederations of Workers and Peasants (CTC), who has sought rapprochement with the workers to achieve the legitimacy of the contract.

The company is linked to the automotive sector, for which there is special interest in its legitimation, since it is one of the sectors that is under observation by the United States and Canada, within the labor chapter of the USMCA.

According to information from Federal Center for Conciliation and Labor Registration (CFCRL) there are three consultations that are registered with contract CC-48/1996-XX-MOR and the vote will take place in two days.
