In 2022 the PAN will not lose in five, but in six states

The national president of the PAN, Marko Cortés, is foolish, naive or extremely trusting. If not, how to understand that he did not prevent the access of cell phones and other electronic devices that can record sound to a meeting with members of his party where he said that of the six governorships that will be disputed next year the PAN will only be able to win one, that of Aguascalientes?

If he had bothered to install a metal detector arch at the entrance of the place where the meeting was held, he would not be the object of criticism and ridicule from his opponents today, both inside and outside his party.

Some PAN members discreetly express their displeasure and not so much because they do not agree with what he said, but because he did not make sure that no one could record his words and then filter them and present him as a totally defeated leader.

From Durango, Quintana Roo and Tamaulipas they inform me that the governors of those states are extremely upset with him because with his words he said that his efforts have been so bad that for this reason they will be unable to keep the governorships in the hands of the PAN or a PAN alliance- PRD-PRI.

According to the 20th Ranking of Governors, a survey conducted last October by C&E Research, these three governors enjoy approval levels similar to that of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador.

The one from Quintana Roo, Carlos Joaquín González, is the fifth best evaluated and his management is approved by 64.8% of those surveyed. Let us remember that he won the governorship as a candidate of the PAN-PRD.

Francisco García Cabeza de Vaca, from Tamaulipas, is the 10th best evaluated, approved by 61.8% of those surveyed, while the one from Durango, José Rosas Aispuro, is the 11th best evaluated with an approval of 60.0%. Both were PAN candidates and won their positions without the need to ally with other parties.

What will the PAN members who are seeking the governorships of these three states now think of their supposed national leader?

Who will now want to be candidates if Cortés anticipates his defeats and the polls indicate that in the governor’s elections of June 5, 2022, the Morenista candidates will win not only in Durango, Quintana Roo and Tamaulipas, but also in Aguascalientes, Hidalgo and Oaxaca?

Cortés’ mistake was taken very well by the national president of Morena, Mario Delgado, who the day before yesterday, through a tweet, told him: “It is correct @MarkoCortes, we will win Durango, Tamaulipas, Oaxaca, Hidalgo and Quintana Roo. But make no mistake, Aguascalientes is going to win it too !! ”.

There are seven months until the elections are held in the six states mentioned here and many things can still happen to modify the intention of the vote that citizens have today. However, despite the economic, health and insecurity crises that we all suffer in some way, AMLO’s citizen approval remains above 60% and that, like it or not, will greatly benefit the candidates that Morena postulates, including the one that competes for the governorship of Aguascalientes, whose current PAN governor, Martín Orozco Sandoval, is approved by only 47.2% of his governed according to the C&E Research survey.

The future does not look good for Marko’s PAN.
