Humboldt Broncos Team Gets Trademark Name and Logo Following Fatal 2018 Bus Crash | The Canadian News

The Humboldt Broncos name and logo have been officially registered more than three years after the Saskatchewan hockey team’s tragic bus accident.

Youth hockey club A said in a press release that after the April 6, 2018 accident, many vendors began using the name and logo on commemorative items, including clothing and stickers.

Sixteen people were killed and 13 injured when a transport truck overlooked a stop sign at a rural Saskatchewan intersection and got in the way of the bus transporting players and staff to a playoff game.

The Humboldt Broncos board members began the process to obtain the trademark shortly after the fatal accident.

The club said the brand will reaffirm the team’s control over the logo and branding.

The logo was originally created in 2002 and features the team’s name in large green letters with yellow trim and an image of a bronco.
