THUNDER BAY, Ontario. – Thunder Bay police say they are investigating a violent robbery that left two people in the hospital over the weekend.

Police say they were called to the Beverly Street and Darwin Crescent area Friday night after reports of an injured woman.

Officers found the woman injured and shortly thereafter found an injured man, both apparently assaulted.

Police say the couple were walking together when they heard a woman who appeared to be yelling for help from a dark area of ​​the Thunder Bay Community Auditorium parking lot.

When the couple went to check on the woman in apparent distress, they were attacked by an unknown man on a bicycle.

Police say the male victim has been discharged from the hospital, but the female victim is still in the hospital.
