Why watch? Senators coming off a complete win

All you have to do is look at the box score Tuesday to realize the right guys led the way for the Senators in a 4-1 victory in St. Louis. Tim Stuetzle and Josh Norris both had three-point nights while center Colin White chipped in with two assists as the club halted a five-game losing skid. This game opens a five-game home stand and let’s hope there’s strong attendance at these ones.

THREE THINGS ABOUT THE KRAKEN

Seattle is coming off a 6-4 loss to the Leafs Tuesday in Toronto. The Kraken battled back from a two-goal deficit and took a 4-3 lead on the strength of a goal by Jaden Schwartz. The Leafs scored three unanswered and handed the Kraken its fourth straight loss. Seattle is now winless in 11 of its last 12 with a 1-10-1 record in that stretch.

Former Senators goalie Chris Driedger could make the start in this one. He spent three years in the Ottawa organization, but established himself in Florida and was signed by the Kraken in the summer. He’s battled Phillip Grubauer for playing time this season, but he wasn’t great against the Leafs with 26 stops. Driedger hasn’t faced the Senators since he left.

With the win against the Blues Tuesday, the Senators are 17-1-1 when leading after two periods. Seattle has struggled mightily with a 1-27-1 record when behind after 40 minutes. The Senators have to make sure they jump on the Kraken early. Getting to Anton Forsberg will be tough for the Kraken, he has posted a save-percentage better than .909 in eight straight starts.
