Named a Chevalière of the National Order of Quebec in 2019 for her ongoing performance achievements, versatile cabaret jazz soprano and Juilliard graduate Sharon Azrieli is at the Yardbird Tuesday night with a program sung from the heart.

Azrieli has been a professional singer in the Canadian Opera Company, a Cantor for Temple Adas Israel in Sag Harbor and has been on stage everywhere from Carnegie Hall to the National Arts Center in Ottawa, performing in more than 60 concerts and operas.

In a much more intimate setting, backed by pianist and arranger Tamir Hendelman for the Tuesday show, she’ll deliver passionate covers from her just-released album Secret Places: A Tribute to Michel Legrand — expect romantic staples like Windmills of My Mind and What Are You Doing for the Rest of Your Life?

Also in the band, on alto and tenor sax is Beth McKenna, Olivier Babaz is playing bass and behind the drum kit sits Peter Colantonio.

Tickets to the 8-10 pm Tuesday show are $20, which you can grab at yardbirdsuite.com — also available at the door if not sold out online, and the venue’s at 11 Tommy Banks Way in Old Strathcona.
