Why watch? Never a dull moment for these Senators

In the second date on this five-game homestand, the Senators are coming off a 4-3 OT win over the Seattle Kraken Thursday. The club had a 3-0 lead in the third, let it go and then had to rely on Josh Norris’ power play winner to get the victory. There’s going to be a good crowd for this one so there should be lots of atmosphere in the building. Saturday night is always fun.

THREE THINGS ABOUT THE HAWKS

The Hawks dropped a 4-3 decision to the Bruins Thursday on the road. Chicago comes into this one with seven losses in their last 10 games. Alex DeBrincat had a two-point effort with a goal and an assist in the loss. Goaltender Kevin Lankinen made 27 stops against the Bruins. Hopefully, we get a chance to see Marc-Andre Fleury in this one.

Patrick Kane doesn’t get to Ottawa very often and he’s having another great year with 19 goals. He’s had some great nights against the Senators with 10 goals and 28 points in 18 games. Somehow, some way, the Senators have to find a way to shut him down, but he’s not alone. DeBrincat has been a point-a-game player against the Senators with four goals and six points in six games.

The Senators dropped a 5-1 decision to the Hawks Nov. 1 at the United Center. This will be Chicago’s first visit to Ottawa since the Senators suffered a 3-2 loss to the Hawks on Jan. 14, 2020. The Senators were scheduled to face Chicago on March 13, 2020 on the road, but headed home instead because the league had put the season paused because of the pandemic.
