Former Hedley frontman Jacob Hoggard was released on parole on Monday after being found guilty of sexual assault on Sunday.

Hoggard, 37, will be able to return home pending sentencing, Judge Gillian Roberts has ruled.
The ex-musician will however be subject to strict conditions, including the obligation to remain at his address, to respect a curfew from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. and to submit to police checks. His wife has also posted $200,000 bail, which will be forfeited if Hoggard breaches his bail conditions.
The man was found guilty on Sunday of sexually assaulting and causing harm to an Ottawa woman in her twenties in 2016. On the other hand, he was acquitted of charges for touching and sexual assault on a teenager who was aged, respectively, 15 and 16 years at the time of the alleged facts.
The jury reached this verdict after six days of deliberation.
During the trial, Hoggard defended himself by assuring that the sexual relations were consensual. The defense alleged that the women sought revenge by accusing the singer of assault, after being rejected by him.
The date for the sentencing hearing will be determined later this week.
