Amid signs of an “escalation” in attacks on ukrainian civilians by the russian forces in its invasion of the neighboring country, United States and its European allies could impose new sanctions on MoscowTreasury Secretary said Thursday Janet Yellen.
“The atrocities they are committing against civilians appear to be intensifying, so it is certainly appropriate that we work with our allies to consider new sanctionsYellen announced.
The sanctions taken to date have “devastated” the russian economyhe added.
