Economy opens Invest in Mexico platform to attract FDI

The Ministry of Economy presented on Tuesday the Invest in Mexico platform, a non-binding digital platform to provide attention to investors.

In general, the platform aims to provide investors with executive content and strategic statistical information, specialized advice and links with institutions responsible for the necessary procedures for investment, in addition to serving as a direct contact with the agencies responsible for the promotion and attraction of Foreign investment.

In Mexico, approximately 20 procedures are required to make an investment, although this has important variations depending on the project in question, with more frequent complications in cases related to construction or linked to municipal authorities.

The launch of the platform was led by the Secretary of Economy, Tatiana Clouthier, together with the Undersecretary of Foreign Trade, Luz María de la Mora, and the head of the Global Economic Intelligence Unit, Mónica Duhem.

In addition, representatives of business chambers, embassies and the Federal Public Administration attended. Clouthier commented that Invest in Mexico is another effort by the Government of Mexico to include economic promotion policies in the digital environment, and complements the strategies related to the relocation of investments in our country. He also pointed out that through this platform it is expected to serve in a more direct way companies interested in expanding their investments in the different regions of the country.

La plataforma Invest in Mexico (www.economia.gob.mx/invierte-en-mx/) is available in English and Spanish, and will operate permanently to meet the needs of investors.
